Gap Opened New Store In Xi'an

American casual clothing brand Gap recently opened a new store at Xi'an Capital Outlets, which is the brand's seventh store in the city.

With the opening of the new store, Gap's total operated stores in Greater China reached 200 for the first time, setting a new record.

Steven Sare, Gap's executive vice president of Asian retail business and general manager of Greater China, said that Xi'an is a world famous ancient city of history and a popular tourist attraction. It is also a modern metropolis that leads the western open development of China. They are glad to open their 200th store in Greater China in this city. It has an important symbolic meaning for the company and it is an important step for the company's strategy to bring products to more Chinese customers.

With 50 years' development, Gap has become one of the most representative clothing brands in the world. Its series products cover different genders and ages, including men's and women's clothing and accessories, GapKids, babyGap, GapMaternity, GapBody and GapFit. By the beginning of August 2019, Gap has more than 1,200 stores in North America, Asia, and Europe.

At the same time, Gap Inc. is gradually established basing on the Gap brand and became one of the largest apparel retail enterprises in the world. It owns many brands, including Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic, Athleta, Intermix, Janie and Jack, and Hill City. In 2018 financial year, its total sales reached USD16.6 billion.

In 1987, Gap opened its first store in Britain and started its international development. The brand formally entered the Chinese mainland market in November 2010 and it entered Hong Kong a year later.
