Airbnb Appointed New China COO

Airbnb recently announced to appoint Siew Kum Hong as new chief operating officer of Airbnb China, effective immediately.

In his new role, Siew will be fully responsible for Airbnb China's daily operation and management and report directly to Airbnb's co-founder, chief strategy officer and China chairman Nathan Blecharczyk.

Blecharczyk said that during the recent years, Airbnb enhanced investment in the China team and they believe by setting the COO position, it will further help improve the company's operating efficiency. Siew has served Airbnb for many years and his extensive management experience and leadership will inspire the China team to further develop business.

Siew said that China holds a special place in his heart and is a critical part of the Airbnb community. He is excited to work with this incredible team to help this successful business scale new heights.

Public files show that Siew joined Airbnb in 2012 and he worked as APAC general counsel and subsequently became its regional director for the Asia Pacific region. Before joining Airbnb, he worked for Yahoo as general counsel of Southeast Asia.
