According to reports in Chinese local media, China's total retail sales of consumer goods reached CNY3.951 trillion in November 2020, a year-on-year increase of 5% and the growth rate was 0.7 percentage point higher than that of the previous month.
Meanwhile, the retail sales of consumer goods excluding automobile were CNY3.55 trillion, up 4.2%.
From January to November 2020, China's total retail sales of consumer goods were CNY35.142 trillion, a year-on-year decrease of 4.8%. The retail sales of consumer goods excluding automobile were CNY31.688 trillion, down 5%.
By location of business unit, in November 2020, China's urban retail sales of consumer goods were CNY3.407 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 4.9%; and the rural retail sales of consumer goods were CNY544.2 billion, up 5.6%. From January to November, the urban retail sales of consumer goods were CNY30.441 trillion, a year-on-year decrease of 4.9%; and the rural retail sales of consumer goods were CNY4.7 trillion, down 4.3%.
By consumption type, in November, retail sales of commodities were CNY3.453 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 5.8%; and catering revenue was CNY498 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 0.6%. From January to November, the retail sales of commodities were CNY31.684 trillion, a year-on-year decrease of 3%; and the catering revenue was CNY3.458 trillion, a year-on-year decrease of 18.6%.
In addition, over the first 11 months of 2020, China's online retail sales were CNY10.537 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 11.5%, and the growth rate was 0.6 percentage point higher than that of the first ten months.
