Lotus Opens Its First Changsha Store

Chia Tai Group's Lotus Supermarket has opened a new store in Changsha, Hunan Province this past weekend.

This is their first store in the area, and Lotus says it prepared for the store for two years.

Lotus entered China in 1997 and currently has had over 70 stores in China. It is expected to increase the number to 100 by the end of this year.

Lotus Supercenter says its sales increased by 20% in 2005 and it serviced 50 million consumers last year.
