British Supermarket Giant Tesco Lands In Guangzhou

Tesco, the largest British supermarket chain, has landed in Guangzhou's Luogang District and it plans to invest US$25 million to build its south China Headquarters there.

Luo Xiuqing, director of Luogang District Economic Development Bureau, says that they have been consigned by the Ministry of Commerce to review some of the foreign invested companies who are engaged in service and trade in the area, and this has directly promoted their efforts in introducing foreign investment.

Sun says that they have begun an extensive investigation on the existing programs in the district and will push these companies to set up trade companies in Guangzhou. At the same time, they will keep track of other business giants both home and abroad in order to attract them to invest in the district.
