McDonald's Raises Prices Again

According to the news from of McDonald's China, the fast food chain will raise the price of some food at some stores across China this month.

McDonald's raised its price on some food not long ago, but a representative from the company says the newly-raised prices are just the result of last year's plan, and a rise in prices would happen again around June 1. Local media report that the rise has little to do with the recently increased price of pork in China and has more to do with a combination of other factors.

Duan Fugeng, the general secretary of the Shanghai Food and Beverage Association, told local media it is not surprising to see the price rise. With the increasing price of the raw materials, higher rent, and higher income of the workers, it is natural for the food and beverage companies to react in this way, Duan says.
