The Guangdong-based department store retailer Jusco, a subsidiary of the Japanese retail giant Aeon, has accelerated its expansion in the Chinese market with a new project in Popark, Guangzhou.
Popark is jointly developed by Guangzhou City Construction and Development Property and the Hong Kong-headquartered Way Kon Group, and is a business project that will focus on building a lifestyle center.
The new Jusco Popark store will have an area of about 30,000 square meters, making it the largest individual Jusco store.
A representative from Jusco told local media that the reason for opening the store in Popark is because Popark's positioning is consistent with Jusco's retail management model. In addition, the project has the same target customers as Jusco.
Apart from Jusco, many Chinese and international brands have entered Popark, including Pizza Hut, Starbucks, Fine Food, and Ajisen Ramen, and KFC.
